Own a Piece of Toastmasters History

Confident Voices: The Story of Toastmasters is a beautifully designed coffee table book that describes and illustrates the first century of Toastmasters International. In 1924, founder Dr. Ralph C. Smedley launched his visionary idea to help individuals develop speaking skills and nurture their self-confidence. Learn how his simple concept—to teach people communication and leadership skills in an experiential learning setting—grew from a single club into the global communication powerhouse that it is today.

Confident Voices explores the people, events, and stories that shaped Toastmasters International in this decade-by-decade analysis. The book features 454 pages, 500+ images, vintage Toastmaster magazine images, matte hardcover, ribbon bookmark, and more.

Highlights include:

  • How the education program evolved from a simple pamphlet to a robust digital learning program

2024 - Base Camp Outage

As previously announced (see below) a new Base Camp user experience is coming in 2024 to support members in a smooth and seamless experience accessing Pathways education content.

To ensure a smooth transition to the new system, there are a few important things for you to know. There will be a period of time when Base Camp is unavailable while we upgrade to the new system. During this time, no member education achievements can be submitted on Base Camp or in Club Central. This will ensure that member education progress is transferred correctly to the new system. This page will be updated with the specific timeframe a few weeks before the outage.

Use Updated Resources

Did you know that the Toastmasters website and resources are updated throughout the year? To ensure you are using the most up-to-date version, utilize the Resource Library to download the files you need. Using the latest version of items like the Membership Application for existing clubs and the Charter Membership and Club Officer Information for chartering clubs will help your club add new members without issue.

Need Help Logging In?

Need Help Logging in? — If you or a club member has difficulty logging in, use the Forgot Password feature, which sends an email prompting the user to create a new password. If a member needs to reset their password each time they log in, this may be because their contact email address and username aren’t synced. Luckily, this is an easy fix! Have the member log in to www.toastmasters.org, go to their profile, click “Edit contact information and privacy”, and then click “Sync my logins”. If that doesn’t resolve the issue, email membership@toastmasters.org.

Evaluation Resources

Did you know that all the evaluation resources are located on www.toastmasters.org and through Base Camp? Members have multiple ways to access the evaluation resources needed to complete their projects in the education program. They can be found when launching a project or in the Tutorials and Resources section on Base Camp in all languages. The English version of these valuable resources can also be found in the Resource Library on the Toastmasters website with just the name of the project—no login required!

Need Help Creating Promo Materials?

Many clubs have already had promotional success using Canva to simply create event fliers, social media posts, and more—is your club one of them? If it hasn’t already, your club can utilize one of several Canva versions or even another design tool; just remember, all content must be brand compliant. To make it even easier, utilize templates already created on Canva by World Headquarters. You can also use the Brand Manual to learn best practices. Have fun and submit your designs to brand@toastmasters.org for review/approval.

Emailing World Headquarters

When you contact us at World Headquarters, we respond to emails as quickly as possible in the order they are received; you will initially receive an automatic reply. One way to streamline email contacts for prompt service is to avoid including multiple World Headquarters email addresses in the same communication, as it may be categorized as spam or result in a reply not reaching you.
